Sligo Jazz Festival

There are some great festivals happening in Sligo

The 2023 Sligo Jazz Festival, organised by Sligo Jazz Project (SJP), has announce details of this year’s event, taking place on 25–30 July. The summer school is a significant platform for budding musicians and the week-long event will comprise workshops, concerts, and daily jam sessions, expected to attract over 130 participants.

Returning to the festival this year are the popular vocalists Liane Carroll and Sara Colman. They will be offering their teaching expertise throughout the week and will be performing with a stellar band at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Friday July 28. The festival’s all-star teaching faculty, The SJP All-Stars, will also make their appearances at the Saturday night bash.

Previous festival acts have included Mike Stern/ Victor Wooten Band, Dhafer Youssef, Kenny Werner, Avishai Cohen, Yellowjackets, Christian Scott, The Bad Plus and many more.
